UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA GREEK VILLAGE | CARROLLTON, GA

This project included the demolition of an existing 20 building apartment complex with substantial abatement, construction of 18 2-story buildings, 87,350 sf on a 14 acre site; steel & wood framed structure with brick veneer. RKR was able to return savings to the Owner. This project was recognized as a First Place Winner, 2010 AGC Build Georgia Award.

GEORGIA TECH BOGGS NUCLEAR RADIATION ENGINEERING RESEARCH LAB | ATLANTA, GA

RKR completed the renovation of an 8,000 SF radiation engineering research lab in the basement of an occupied facility with ongoing, highly sensitive research projects in the middle of a busy, urban campus. Key features included installation of fragile nuclear research equipment; radiation shielding concrete slabs and walls; installation of 14 ton sliding shield doors; lead shielding, and other radiation protection measures.

University of West Georgia  |  CARROLLTON, GA

RKR worked closely with the Owner & Architect in pre-construction, providing value engineering to bring in this project, designed to LEED Standards, within budget, and ahead of schedule. New 23,000 SF campus bookstore constructed on the busiest intersection of a thriving University campus. Key features include light shelves, light shades, cistern collection system, a fast track schedule, and protection of majestic oak trees on a very compact site.

NEWNAN, GA

RKR worked with the Owner (WGTC Foundation), End User (WGTC/TCSG), and Architect to perform extensive value engineering that provided savings to this project. The new Allied Health Care Building included an economic development center, library, labs and conference space.The building features extensive sun shades and partially recycled brick on the exterior as well as low flow lavatories and toilets, high efficiency lighting and HVAC systems, and low emissions paint and finishes in the interior.
