R. K. Redding Construction Builds on Success by Taking Top Honor at the AGC Build Georgia Ceremony for Roopville Road Baptist Church Worship Center
BREMEN, Ga. (June 9, 2015) : R. K. Redding Construction (RKR), a full service, multi-disciplinary construction management and general construction contracting firm, has received a top honor for the eighth year in a row from AGC Georgia, the statewide chapter of The Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. (AGC of America). The award was presented to RKR President & CEO Randall Redding at the AGC Build Georgia awards ceremony in Amelia Island, Fla. The firm's work on the Roopville Road Baptist Church Worship Center was recognized with a First Place Award in the construction management division.
"Roopville Road Baptist Church was blessed that its congregation was growing at a rapid rate and we were humbled that they selected us to build their new Worship facility," said Redding. "By working closely with the client throughout the process, we were able to discover savings opportunities without compromising their vision. RKR was honored to be a part in helping this wonderful church fulfill its calling and, in the process, made relationships that will last a lifetime."
The $7.2 million, 54,000 square foot addition includes a new sanctuary and an education / administration building for the growing congregation. The two-story facility includes a 1,250-seat Worship Center built with exposed beams, stone, stucco and glass. Despite multiple challenges during the build, which included a massive snowstorm, the RKR project team was able to provide the church access to their existing facility throughout construction, as well as complete the project on time and within budget.
Recent AGC Georgia Awards for RKR include the following projects: West Georgia Technical College Allied Healthcare Building (2014), Trinka Davis Veterans Village (2013), GT Boggs NRE Lab Renovation and UWG Campus Bookstore (2012), Paulding County High School Addition/Renovation and a Best Sustainable Practices Award (2011), UWG Greek Village (2010), North Paulding School Cluster (2009) and Rockmart Middle School (2008).
