AGC Georgia Receives National Recognition for Association Excellence

Atlanta, GA, Sept. 30, 2014 : The Associated General Contractors of Georgia, Inc. (AGC Georgia) announced today they are the recipient of the prestigious 2014 Large Chapter of the Year Award presented by The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC of America). This award was given out at a gala dinner in front of 350 industry leaders from across the U.S. who participated in AGC of America's recent annual National and Chapter Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.

Representing AGC Georgia at this conference include Randall Redding, President of R. K. Redding Construction, Inc., in Bremen and Trey Anderson, President of Anderson Construction Company of Fort Gaines, the Chapter's 2014-15 president and vice president, as well as Mike Dunham and Mark Woodall, AGC Georgia's CEO and director of governmental affairs.

With a national network of 94 Chapters and 25,000 member firms in the AGC organization, "receiving this award is an incredible honor for us and our membership throughout Georgia," says Dunham. "Growing our association is similar to growing a traditional business--it takes collaboration and partnering among all stakeholders to truly maximize our potential and one that is only possible with support from our loyal and engaged members." Member firms in AGC Georgia include the top general contractors, construction managers and specialty contractors as well as many service and supplier companies who support the commercial construction industry.

This award recognizes and applauds AGC Georgia's many tangible accomplishments and outstanding program and service initiatives delivered to members throughout 2013-14. These were outlined in a highly competitive and rigorous nomination process showing how AGC Georgia stood out from other Chapters. In a congratulatory letter, Stephen E. Sandherr, CEO of AGC of America says, "When it comes to virtually every aspect of serving the needs of your members, AGC Georgia does a fantastic job. Your chapter has a well-earned reputation for always challenging the status quo, raising the bar and finding new ways to deliver quality programs and services that benefit the membership and industry."

Redding adds, "I would be remiss not to acknowledge the visionary leadership provided by our officers and Board during the past few years. Their guidance contributed so much to our winning this 2014 award for association excellence. This honor is also a credit to our talented professional staff responsible for delivering Chapter services and who take such good care of members."

This is the second time AGC Georgia has earned this honor. The first win was in 2007.
